Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT), founded in 1951 as the Higher Agricultural Institute, is the unique centre for undergraduate and graduate studies, scientific research, training and extension in the area of agriculture, food and environment. AUT staff of 510 employees is structured as follows: Academic staff 269 (245 professors + 24 researchers). Currently AUT has 5 faculties (Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Faculty of Economy and Agribusiness, Faculty of Biotechnology and Food, Faculty of Forestry Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine). It offers 54 study programs. AUT has established cooperation with different universities in Europe and USA, through this cooperation, AUT aims diploma recognition and equalization and also joint scientific research projects in the field of environment and agriculture. AUT participates in many national and international projects of EU, including FP6 and FP7 programs, TEMPUS, World Bank projects, and many bilateral projects.
Role of AUT will be to set up working groups, nominate an officer for LL, and expert for career guidance. Institution will review working concept, and prepare presentation on LL activities. AUT will conduct surveying, prepare reports on LL potentials at institutional and national level, as well as a case study. Institution will participate in a workshop in Sarajevo. AUT will review the draft version of Regional guidelines and will develop national strategies, will participate in a round table, in a meeting in Osijek, and will organize and participate in the final conference in Tirana. AUT will participate in teacher training, designing of pilot activities, courses' curricula, and their conduct. Institution will distribute and collect student questionnaires. AUT will participate in project management, creation of Interim and Final reports, and procurement of equipment.
