Biotechnical Faculty is the leading national higher education and research institution in the domain of applied life sciences. Its graduate and postgraduate programs, as well as research, technical and consulting work concern the sciences of living nature (biology, microbiology) as well as agriculture, forestry and fisheries (forestry, animal husbandry, agronomy) and the related production technologies (wood technology, food technology, biotechnology). Department of Animal Science is one of the seven departments which make up the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. The department’s main activity is organizing and running undergraduate programs in the food area, and research and expert work in the field of animal science and food consumer science. It has an important role in the development of the Slovenian agriculture and food policies. Great emphasis is given on food safety, sustainability and biodiversity in animal production, marketing and promotion of animal products.

Role of UL will be to set up working groups, nominate an officer for LL, and expert for career guidance. Institution will review working concept, prepare presentation on LL activities, and prepare trainers for training. UL will conduct surveying, prepare reports on LL potentials at institutional level, as well as a case study. Institution will participate in a workshop in Sarajevo. UL will review the draft version of Regional guidelines, will participate on a round table, and final conference in Tirana. UL will participate in teacher training, designing of pilot activities, courses' curricula, and their conduct. Institution will distribute and collect student questionnaires, and will be involved in drafting the memorandum of understanding. It will provide an expert not involved in any other working groups, nor in any other project activity. UL will participate in project management, and creation of Interim and Final reports.
